The finale issue of Sean Lewis and Caitlin Yarsky's Coyotes arrives with a cover that is hauntingly beautiful — a pale blue woman stands at the center of a ring of snarling, monstrous wolf-like creatures, her eyes closed and one hand raised as if in quiet defiance or surrender. Yarsky's painterly art gives the encircling beasts a visceral menace, from glowing red-cracked flesh to blood-stained jaws, while the starlit blue of the woman's figure lends the whole composition an almost dreamlike calm against the surrounding threat. It's a striking send-off to one of Image's more compelling dark fantasy series of 2018.
