“The Beginning”

While Ray Torres is asleep, the Dark Paladin explains to him that "The Legacy" chose him to be this space sector's Cosmic Guard, giving him many powers that he will need to stop the alien menace of the Genociders. After waking up at the St. James Orphanage, he finds out that the supervisors kill kids to sell their organs. Dejected he falls asleep and the Dark Paladin advises him on how to stop the evil men. However, after infiltrating the supervisors' office and computer, he sees them about to eliminate one of the orphans and so immediately intervenes, but is thrown off the building’s roof.
