Hugo Pratt's signature watercolor linework is on full display here, as Corto Maltese — recognizable in his sailor's cap and red neckerchief — strides alongside a group of indigenous warriors, their red-banded hair and watchful expressions suggesting a journey into unfamiliar and potentially dangerous territory. The title Toujours un peu plus loin ("Always a Little Further") perfectly captures the wandering, restless spirit that makes this series so compelling. Published by Casterman in 2015, this volume is a fine entry point into one of European comics' most atmospheric and travel-worn adventure series.
