Corto Maltese #11
This volume collects the Corto Maltese adventure 'Les Îles lointaines du vent' (The Far Islands of the Wind), originally serialized in the 1970s. Written and illustrated by Hugo Pratt, the story follows the iconic sailor Corto Maltese as he navigates the South Pacific, encountering mysterious islands and complex characters. This edition is part of the 2001 Casterman series reprinting Pratt's classic works.
When Corto Maltese accompanies his old friend Professor Steiner to pay a visit to the writer Hermann Hesse, he becomes immersed in a shifting, dreamlike adventure involving the quest for the Holy Grail, the Devil, the Sandman, and Death, as well as the knight Klingsor (a character from the epic poem Parzifal, Wagner’s opera Parsifal, and a novel by Hesse).
