“Réveil après un beau rêve”

In "Réveil après un beau rêve," Thérèse finds herself caught in a surreal twist of fate after a chance encounter with a celebrity’s daughter, Grâce, just before her wedding. When Grâce’s father’s estate opens to the public, Thérèse—carrying Grâce’s documents—wakes to be mistaken for the long-lost daughter, thrust into a web of mistaken identity she can’t easily escape. A 1963 French comic from Arédit-Artima, this issue unfolds with quiet tension and emotional weight, its story told through typeset lettering and a cover by an unknown artist.

The day before the wedding, Thérèse was helping her roommate pack her belongings and learned that Grâce was the daughter of a celebrity. But Grâce and her father had been abandoned soon after she was born and wanted nothing to do with her. With Grâce on her honeymoon, Thérèse learned that the star's property would be open to the public. Thérèse had her friend's documents with her as she headed toward the property, but was hit by a car when she got near it. She woke to discover the lady thought she was her daughter and Thérèse was soon trapped when she didn't tell everyone the truth.
