During World War II, Sgt. Olsen is disgusted by Albert, a soldier in his platoon who displays signs of weakness and sensitivity. Olsen tells his WAC girlfriend Wendy to pretend to be interested in Albert. Wendy discovers she actually likes Albert, who is humiliated when Olsen exposes his scheme. During training, troops are trapped in a forest fire and Olsen intends to abandon them; Albert knocks him out and supervises the rescue. Albert is the only one left and Wendy saves him, because she really loves him.
