Ron Wagner's cover for this March 1987 Marvel issue is a genuinely unsettling piece of work — a snarling, third-eye-crowned sorcerer looms forward with razor-long claws and wisps of dark magic curling around him, while a bound, helpless captive lies stretched across what appears to be a ritual altar at his feet. Skulls and shadowy figures lurk at the edges, reinforcing the sense that this villain commands something far worse than mere muscle. If you enjoy Conan's world at its most darkly supernatural, "The Tower" looks like a story that leans hard into that sorcery-and-peril atmosphere the series does so well.
