Conan el Bárbaro #72
This volume collects issue #39 of Planeta DeAgostini's Spanish-language run of Conan el Bárbaro, part of the 1985 series that reprinted and translated classic Marvel Conan adventures. It continues the barbarian's sword-and-sorcery exploits in the Hyborian Age, featuring stories originally produced by Marvel Comics' creative teams of the era.
Conan the Barbarian #72 (1985) features the story "El jardín del miedo," written by Robert E. Howard and Roy Thomas, with art by Barry Smith and inks by Sal Buscema. The issue includes coloring by Mimi Gold and Barry Windsor-Smith, and lettering by Agustín Zorzo. The cover, also by Barry Smith, depicts the tale's distinctive imagery.
In "El jardín del miedo," Conan and Jenna find themselves among a primitive mountain tribe, only for Jenna to be snatched by a mysterious winged being. The creature, the last of its kind, flees to a towering fortress ringed by deadly, flesh-eating flowers. With cunning and brute force, Conan rallies a herd of woolly mammoths to breach the tower’s defenses and confront the guardian of the garden.
In "¡Cuidado con la ira de Anu!", Conan joins forces with Burgun in a dangerous act of theft, only to see his companion betrayed and executed. Seeking justice, Conan tracks down the betrayer Aron and a sinister priest, but the path to vengeance leads him through shifting loyalties and ancient forces. As the sky ignites with the rise of the Red Bull, a new chapter begins—though not one he expected.
