In "Ein betrogenes Volk," Conan finds himself caught in a web of deception when Salome, disguised as Taramis, commands the Khauran army to surrender to Constantius—only for Conan to defy the order. As the army is slaughtered and Conan is captured, the true nature of the betrayal begins to unfold.

In "Der Fluch der Katzengöttin," Conan returns to his desert Zuagirs only to find them embroiled in a sacred raid, their actions strangely influenced by a mysterious cat-like idol. As the idol’s hypnotic power spreads, even his trusted companion Fazal falls under its sway—forcing Conan to confront the ancient curse before it consumes them both.
