Compass #4

The subtitle "The Cauldron of Eternal Life" sets an appropriately mythic tone for this fourth issue of Image's Compass, and Justin Greenwood's cover delivers on that promise — a red-hooded adventurer leaps forward with a bucket in hand, framed by a blazing compass-rose beacon, while a second figure wielding a torch-like staff stands amid what appear to be massive skeletal remains in a smoldering landscape. Greenwood's linework and Daniela Miwa's warm, ember-tinged colors give the whole scene a sense of urgent, high-stakes exploration. Writers Robert Mackenzie and David Walker have crafted a series that clearly relishes pitting its hero against something much bigger than themselves.
