“The Forces of Evil”

In the jungles of Burma, downed pilot Harris joins forces with a fellow ex-pat prospector to evade the Japanese, while a British truck convoy is ambushed and its officers murdered by deserters Sneed, Gorman, Garrity, and Morris. After fleeing into the wild, the four men stumble upon an ancient shrine, loot four mysterious jewels, and split them among themselves—unaware that the gems carry a deadly curse. Written by Cyril G. Walker and illustrated with tense, atmospheric detail, "The Forces of Evil" unfolds in a story where greed and survival collide in the shadow of ancient secrets. The cover, by Ian Kennedy, captures the grim tension of the jungle and the looming threat of the unknown.
