This anthology issue features "The Captain and the Kids" by R. Dirks, in which the Captain encounters various animals and mishaps, including confrontations with hornets, a bucket of water, and attempts to catch eels, while the kids create chaos around him. The issue also includes "Hawkshaw the Detective," which opens with a story titled "The Great Hawkshaw Foiled" involving a plot to steal tournament money hidden in a shuffle-board, and continues with "The Amateur Star Gazer," where characters investigate mysterious movements in an observatory. A third story, "Toots and Casper," depicts Toots taking pictures of Casper for a friend, leading to comedic interactions on a tropical beach with a pirate character.
