“Go A-Huntin'”

In "Go A-Huntin'," a 1939 Centaur comic, unemployed dogs in town find unexpected work when the slick capitalist Wolfhound offers them a chance to build a factory—only to reveal the true purpose once construction is complete. Written, drawn, inked, and lettered by Dick Ryan, this clever satire blends humor and irony in a story where the workers’ clever twist on their own fate keeps the stakes high and the laughs sharp. The cover by Fred Schwab captures the story’s playful menace with a striking, dynamic image.
