Comic Comics #5 is an anthology featuring multiple humorous stories. In "Jetsam Joe," a vaudeville performer attempts a Spanish-language comeback act but struggles with pronunciation and audience comprehension, ultimately realizing his natural comic talent needs no special instructions. "Snortville Sneeze" follows a newspaper editor's secretary who discovers dirt on a corrupt mayoral candidate at the town hall and rushes to get the story published to earn a salary raise. "Freddy Freshman" depicts a college student who must stop a runaway dog from jumping off the roof, enlisting the help of fraternity members and ultimately being rewarded by the professor for the dog's safety and exercise benefits.
