This anthology issue contains four main stories: "Shorty the Deputy Sheriff," in which the hapless Shorty pursues a grizzly bear that has been troubling the local professor, only to find himself repeatedly outmaneuvered and trapped in mud; "Scoop the Comet Reporter," a slapstick tale of a newspaper reporter chasing stories around town and getting into various mishaps involving splashing water and chaos; "Billy Bunter the Football Star," a school sports story in which the rotund Billy Bunter becomes involved in football intrigue at his school involving stolen items and competing juniors; and "Buck Jones in the Mystery of Biddy Logan," a Western adventure featuring Buck Jones rescuing a girl named Biddy Logan and uncovering a tale of hidden treasure and family secrets involving a character named Gonzalez who had stolen a cliff-mounted cuff. The issue also includes a "Don Deeds" feature involving a character named Hoo Sung fighting enemies with the aid of a secret gas weapon, plus puzzle competitions, advertisement content, and a preview of an upcoming pirate story.
