This anthology issue contains four stories: "Shorty," in which a deputy sheriff and his steer pursue a critter that has gone astray during a holiday; "Scoop—The Comet Reporter," following the bumbling journalist Simon through various mishaps involving a chicken and domestic chaos; "Buck Jones—The Mystery of Biddy Logan," in which Buck Jones battles Mexican bandits led by Jose Gonzalez to rescue the kidnapped Biddy Logan, ultimately defeating them with the help of his whip; and "Don Deeds," where the protagonist attempts to rescue Mai-Mai, daughter of Hoo Sung, from the crooks holding her captive on an island while dealing with a wrecked seaplane.
