Collection "H". Humour Humanoide #23
Part of Les Humanoïdes Associés' cheerful "Humour Humanoïde" line, this 1984 volume by Dodo and Ben Radis plays gleefully on the rock-and-roll era with its title Rock Around the Closh. The cover sets a wonderfully comedic scene: a flustered, sweating businessman in an orange suit stands on a city sidewalk alongside a sharp-dressed redhead, while a scrappy street musician — guitar in one hand, saxophone slung around him — crashes into the frame near a marquee advertising "Les Closh ce soir" at the Coco Club. It's a lively snapshot of small chaos meeting big-city nightlife, and the cartooning has the loose, energetic charm that made Les Humanoïdes Associés' humor imprints so appealing throughout the 1980s.
