Codename: Stryke Force #10

From Image Comics' January 1995 lineup, Codename: Stryke Force #10 presents a striking cover by Billy Tan Mung Khoy — a silver-haired, heavily muscled figure clad in dark blue and gold armor looms forward, dark tendril-like appendages arcing out from his body against a swirling violet and blue haze. The raw intensity of that composition, with the figure's scarred, grimacing face and gleaming metallic details, makes for a genuinely arresting piece of mid-'90s Image artwork. Steve Gerber brings his storytelling instincts to the series, and this issue is a solid entry in one of Image's more action-oriented team books.
