“The Birth of the Gun!”

In "The Birth of the Gun!", the legacy of the Gun Master Kattak Po lives on through his last descendant, Dumas Poe, who is bound by a solemn charge: to prevent the misuse of the very weapon his ancestor invented. With the original gun stolen and its dangerous potential now in the wrong hands, Dumas Poe must navigate a world where invention and destruction are inseparable—guided by a bloodline oath and the weight of history. Fred Kida delivers the story and cover in a striking, unified vision, marking a rare early appearance of this unique character in the 1946 Clue Comics #10.

The original Gun Master, named Kattak Po, has his invention of gunpowder and iron tube which can fire a projectile (early example of a gun) is stolen from him, and the charge is made to his descendants to track down the criminal if they can, but, most importantly, commit their lives to stopping the use of this weapon. Now, the last able-bodied descendant of Kattak Po, Dumas Poe, carries on that tradition.
