About this Collection

This special issue of Classics Illustrated presents a graphic adaptation of the biblical story of the Ten Commandments, focusing on the narrative of Moses receiving the divine laws on Mount Sinai. Originally published as issue #135A in the Classics Illustrated series, this edition by Jack Lake Productions Inc. offers a condensed, illustrated retelling of the Exodus account for a general audience.

A dramatic retelling of the biblical tale, The Ten Commandments unfolds with Moses standing before Pharaoh, demanding the freedom of the Hebrew people. As divine plagues strike Egypt and the Red Sea parts to save the fleeing faithful, the story culminates in the moment God delivers the Ten Commandments to Moses on stone tablets. Written by Lorenz Graham and illustrated in powerful, expressive detail by Norman Nodel—both on interior art and cover—this Classics Illustrated Special Issue brings the ancient narrative to life with timeless gravitas.
