Claro de Luna #168
In the shadow of the Berlin Wall on a storm-lashed December night, Carin risks everything to escape East Berlin, guided by the quiet resolve of Gregor. With a promise made on a deathbed—her love Herman’s final wish to see his paintings in Paris—she crosses the divide, driven by grief and devotion. Written by Silvia Duarte and illustrated with haunting detail by Carmen Barbará, this powerful story captures a moment of fragile hope amid Cold War tension, where love and memory become the most dangerous, and most essential, kind of rebellion. The cover, also by Carmen Barbará, mirrors the story’s mood with a stark, rain-slicked vision of the wall’s edge.
