This breezy 1949 Marvel teen comedy finds Cindy seated on a beach chair, covered in sun-tan lotion, while an smitten Chuck — hearts and swirls floating around his head — cheerfully applies yet another squeeze from a bottle, completely ignoring her exasperated question about whether he's used enough. The punchline lands perfectly: a towering pile of empty sun-tan lotion tubes has accumulated at his feet, and his grinning "Heck, no!" says everything about his priorities. Light, charming, and full of summertime fun, it's a wonderful snapshot of the playful humor Stan Lee and artist Earl James brought to Marvel's teen humor line.
