In "The Creekmore Curse," a 1971 horror-suspense tale, a research historian named Rand and his assistant Betty move into a reconstructed house in Whispering Hollow, unaware that the land holds a dark past. Centuries after Dr. Gaunt’s occult experiments ended in fire and ruin, his malevolent spirit returns as a black dog, reigniting his sinister influence. As the house stirs with ancient evil, Rand and Betty must flee into the cemetery, where the ghosts of Gaunt’s forgotten victims and a final bolt of lightning may finally end his curse.
