Chic Young's Dagwood Comics #134

This Giant-Size Harvey Comics issue sends Dagwood Bumstead on a wonderfully absurd "Space Age" adventure, with the cover by Paul Fung Jr. showing him gleefully riding an orange rocket through a star-filled purple cosmos while clutching — naturally — a giant wedge of Swiss cheese, with Blondie's smiling face emblazoned on the rocket's side. The left spine previews the full cast of strips inside, with portrait panels for Blondie, Mr. Dithers, the Katzenjammer Kids, and The Little King alongside planets and twinkling stars. For a quarter in 1963, this oversized package packed some of comic strips' most beloved characters into one cheerfully imaginative package.
