Chic Young's Dagwood Comics #110

Based on the beloved Blondie newspaper strip by Chic Young, this 1960 Harvey Comics entry captures the suburban comedy the series does so well — the cover shows a hapless figure hanging from a windowsill in nothing but a towel, straining and trembling while two well-dressed women inside cheerfully go about pulling back the polka-dot curtains, blissfully unaware of the predicament just below the sill. It's a perfectly timed visual gag that promises the kind of good-natured domestic chaos fans of Dagwood Bumstead have always loved. Also noted as a "Top Toy Special," this 10-cent issue is a charming snapshot of early-'60s humor comics at their most lighthearted.
