Chic Young's Dagwood Comics #108

Even in the bathtub, poor Dagwood can't catch a break — the cover of this 1960 Harvey issue finds him wide-eyed and dripping as a very lively goldfish leaps clean out of the water right in front of him, leaving him reaching helplessly in mid-air. Chic Young's clean, expressive linework captures that perfectly frazzled Bumstead energy in a single glance. If this bath-time disaster is any indication, the gags inside — including "Pants, Present, and Future" — promise the cheerful domestic chaos that made this series a ten-cent delight.
