A tense standoff unfolds on this 1958 Charlton cover by Dick Giordano, as the Cheyenne Kid — mounted on his white horse — raises a hand in warning before a crowd of shadowy, hat-wearing figures while cavalry soldiers back him up near a frontier stable. With a cannon looming ominously to the left and danger pressing in from all sides, the scene crackles with the kind of open-range tension that made Western comics irresistible at a dime a copy. Interior art by Al Williamson and Angelo Torres, paired with a Joe Gill story titled "The Ghost of Limping Wolf," promises plenty of frontier atmosphere to match the cover's dramatic promise.
