François Craenhals brings his signature clean linework to this 1985 Casterman album, as the cover of Le Piège plunges readers straight into the chaos hinted at by its title — "The Trap." Chevalier Ardent is caught in a crushing melee, pinned beneath heavy wooden beams while a fierce, bare-chested blond warrior and several other combatants press in from all sides. It's a wonderfully kinetic image that promises the kind of swashbuckling medieval adventure the series does so well.
