At the beach, a gust of wind blows Janice's scarf out of her hands and it wraps itself round a sea gull's leg. The bird drops it on Gull Rock and Peter challenges Dick to a rock climbing contest with a date with Janice as the prize. Dick turns down the challenge, saying the rock is too slippery. Later that afternoon, Janice uses some binoculars to see Dick climbing the cliff. When she later hears a man has been badly injured climbing the rock, she rushes to the hospital to see Dick. However, it was Peter who was injured and Dick was climbing the rock to save him.
