Brenda's family moves to Peasley as her father takes over the bank in Weybridge. Brenda makes friends with Brad, but her mother insists she see boys in their own 'social circle' and Brad's father had a reputation as a thief and drunkard. Her mother tries to encourage her to see Jimmy, but Brenda knows he is a smarmy creep. Jealous of Brad, Jimmy tries to frame him for stealing some jewels.
