Chapel #5 puts two of Image Comics' hardest-hitting characters on a collision course, with the skull-faced mercenary Chapel dominating the foreground — heavily armed, bullet-belted, and gripping a large blade — while a green-caped, clearly battered Spawn is forced to one knee behind him. The stark "vs. Spawn!" burst on the cover makes the confrontation impossible to miss, and the fiery, shattered environment surrounding them only adds to the sense that this 1995 showdown is anything but friendly.
