Chambres Noires #2

A looming shadow creature with glowing yellow eyes cradles a huddled group of eerily diverse human figures in its enormous clawed hand — it's a striking image that immediately sets the tone for Chasse à l'âme, the second volume of Chambres Noires. The teal-tinged palette and stylized character designs by Olivier Bleys and Tanguy Dumont give this 2011 Vents d'Ouest release a wonderfully unsettling gothic atmosphere. Fans of dark, atmospheric French bande dessinée will find plenty to savor here.
