Harvey Comics Entertainment (HCE) was formed after the original Harvey Comics was sold in 1989 to Jeffrey Montgomery's HMH Communications and relocated to Santa Monica, California. The new ownership leaned heavily on reprints marketed under the 'Harvey Classics' banner while also continuing original stories featuring the core cast. The 4th series launched in March 1991, picking up immediately where the long-running 3rd series had ended at issue #260, with Warren Kremer — Harvey's defining artist and art editor for 35 years — continuing to contribute stories and art alongside newer contributors such as Jorge Pacheco on covers and Marty Taras on interior stories. HCE ceased all publishing operations in 1994, making the entire 1991–1994 run a finite, self-contained chapter.
