Carnage #2
The second chapter of this five-part Marvel limited series arrives with a cover by Clayton Crain that is genuinely hard to look away from — Carnage lunges toward the viewer in a near-photorealistic wash of deep crimson, his symbiote tendrils coiling outward against a cold, shadowy wall. Crain's painted style gives the creature a slick, almost visceral texture that feels unsettling in the best possible way. With Zeb Wells scripting, this 2011 series clearly has no interest in going easy on its readers.
