Part of Gladstone's series reprinting Barks' classic adventures in their original vibrant hues, it showcases the master storyteller's humor, art, and imaginative tales featuring Donald and his nephews.
In "Donald Duck and the Ghost of the Grotto," the ducks find themselves in the West Indies, running a kelp-gathering boat when they hear whispers of an armored man who emerges every fifty years to steal a small boy. When Dewey is taken, Donald, Scrooge, and the others must brave a treacherous coral reef grotto beneath a decaying galleon, guarded by a massive octopus, in a desperate bid to rescue him.
In "Adventure Down Under," Donald Duck, under a curious spell, becomes convinced he’s a kangaroo and sets off to Australia with Huey, Dewey, and Louie—only to find himself tangled in a wild hunt for Mournful Mary, the so-called queen of the kangaroos. As the ducks navigate the outback’s strange wonders, Donald’s delusion leads them straight into the clutches of mysterious aboriginal tribesmen.
