Carl Anderson's beloved mute boy Henry takes center stage on this cheerful 1949 Dell issue, shown on the cover wielding a mop or broom that has snagged a tall top hat, with a bucket full of what appear to be cannonballs or coal scattered at his feet — a perfectly wordless gag that captures the strip's gentle, pantomime charm. Smaller vignettes of Henry in various poses ring the bright blue border, giving the cover an energetic, playful feel. At 52 pages of all comics for just a dime, this was a terrific value for young readers of the era.
