“My Greatest Role”

In "My Greatest Role," Roland faces a series of trials set by Fair Lady Genevieve to prove his worthiness for marriage—slaying a dragon, defeating a giant, and rescuing a veiled maiden. With the dragon easily dispatched and the giant already off to a Giant's Convention, Roland’s true test begins when he frees the captive and lifts her veil, revealing a beauty beyond imagination. The story unfolds with quiet charm and whimsical stakes, a rare moment of romantic irony in a 1970 Charlton comic, all rendered in typeset lettering that gives the tale its distinctive voice.
