Captain Steve Savage #11

Captain Steve Savage and his companion Check Bryan are conducting a combat training mission flying between Japan and Alaska when their jet fighter suffers control damage from radar-guided anti-aircraft fire and is forced to crash-land in the northern wilderness. Hunted by relentless enemy forces across a 500-square-mile cordoned area, Savage and Bryan escape to the sea in a desperate bid for survival. At an army base in Alaska, military officials brief Savage on his new assignment: he must test combat pilot skills and new equipment under dangerous conditions by engaging in mock combat operations flying between Japan and Alaska, with the goal of maintaining tension and separating U.S. and Soviet forces in the region.
