Captain Midnight battles the villainous Jagga at the Zero Hour, successfully executing him in what he considers his finest victory. However, Jagga proves unkillable due to electricity-enhanced strength granted by a mysterious source, and he easily overpowers Captain Midnight and his allies. Captain Midnight later intercepts radio signals revealing that Jagga works for Jim Klaw, who seeks to maintain his monopoly over Guayule, prompting the inventor to race against time to repair his aircraft and pursue the criminals before they escape in air jets. As Sky Monarch, the transformed inventor pursues Jagga and his gang in his Meteor II spacecraft to deliver a lesson and reclaim control.
