This April 1945 Fawcett issue puts Captain Marvel Jr. front and center in a striking cover by Mac Raboy, showing the blue-and-gold-costumed hero streaking through a wall of flames while a herd of panicked deer and moose scatter across the wilderness below. A pine-covered forest burns behind him, perfectly setting up the cover's own teaser: "Capt. Marvel Jr. Blazes a Wilderness Trail!" Raboy's fluid linework and warm color drama make this a genuinely appealing snapshot of mid-1940s superhero comics at their most energetic.
