From Fawcett's November 1952 lineup comes this wonderfully strange entry in the Captain Marvel Jr. series, featuring cover art by Bud Thompson that earns its "An Eye Opener!" banner in spectacular fashion. Captain Marvel Jr. is shown locked in furious combat with a massive, grotesque green creature whose body bristles with detached, flaming eyeballs hurtling through the air in every direction — it's the "Thousand-Eyed Idol of Doom," and the cover sells the menace with gleeful, unsettling energy. Writer Bill Woolfolk and interior artist Joe Certa are on hand to back up that wild promise with the story "The Mad Mongol Monster," making this a genuinely memorable 10-cent package from the golden age of Fawcett comics.
