Red and his friends in Rivertown decide to have a picnic down by the city's dam. Before feasting away at their food, the boys decide to take a swim out to a boat anchored in the water, where they find John Wright tied and gagged in a chair. After being freed, John tells the boys to go back to town and warn the populace of impeding danger from the crooks wanting to blow up the dam. After they have left, John takes Hadacol and turns into Captain Hadacol, repairs the damage to the dam and saves the boys from the criminals.
