Captain Atom #9

Part of DC's New 52 initiative, this July 2012 issue presents a striking vision of Captain Atom mid-transformation — depicted here as a blue-skinned, multi-armed figure draped in flowing red cloth, hovering above a crumbling cityscape bathed in fiery orange skies. The cover by Mike Choi leans into something mythic and unsettling, the hero's silhouette evoking ancient deity imagery while the tagline warns that "the end is near." With J. T. Krul scripting and Freddie Williams II on interior art, "A God Among Men" promises to push Captain Atom's evolving nature to its dramatic limits.
