Robert Kirkman and Mark Englert's superhero series continues with a cover by Ryan Ottley that immediately sets a tense, offbeat tone — a blue-suited hero in the foreground looks rattled while casually holding an ice cream cone, a pink-armored figure bearing a bold "V" emblem stands firmly behind him, and looming over them both is a massive, grotesque villain with cracked skin and a feral snarl. The contrast between that mundane ice cream and the lurking menace above makes for a wonderfully unsettling composition. Fans of the Invincible universe — the cover even carries the "as seen on TV" banner — will find plenty to dig into here.
