Canto III: Lionhearted #2

The little clockwork hero Canto crouches small but determined in the shadow of a massive, looming figure, sword clutched tightly in hand as enormous pink tentacles coil menacingly across the background — it's a striking image that captures the series' signature blend of big odds and bigger heart. Drew Zucker's linework does a wonderful job of making Canto feel both vulnerable and resolute against such an overwhelming threat, with Vittorio Astone's cool blues and vivid magentas giving the scene a genuinely dramatic atmosphere. Canto III: Lionhearted continues to deliver the kind of fantasy adventure that reminds you why you fell in love with comics in the first place.
