This seventh installment of Image's Southern Gothic series frames its cover like a vintage whiskey label — a deliberate, unsettling touch that sets Cannibal apart from the pack. In the foreground, a bearded man in sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat smokes coolly, while behind him in a sun-drenched field two figures face off, one armed with what appears to be a blade. Brian Buccellato and Jennifer Young's writing partnership, paired with Matias Bergara's atmospheric art, makes this 2017 series one of the more distinctive things Image published that year.
