Candy #8

Candy #8 is an anthology featuring two main stories. The first story follows Candy as she becomes involved in a boat race competition where her father Ted needs help repairing his vessel; Candy offers assistance using racing techniques she learned in Walton City, and later her friend Dawson falls through ice on a pond while she entertains children nearby, giving him an excuse to leave for dry clothes. The second story shows Candy's father being elected president of the Hartwick Men's Club, prompting him to worry about the expense of his daughter's wardrobe; when Candy discovers a live skunk at the Elite Pet Shoppe, her father orders a skunk jacket instead, which she decides to send to her friend Cornelia as a consolation prize.
