In this issue, Candy becomes involved in an elaborate prank when Ted Dawson and his friends plan to scare the superstitious old Windbag Braggs by pretending a ghost haunts his estate. The scheme spirals into chaos as Candy and Ted sneak around at night with a chain, but their efforts accidentally cause a series of mishaps including water damage and structural problems in the house. A model named Josephine becomes entangled in the confusion, and Candy eventually finds herself being taken for a ride in a flashy car by strangers, discovering the vehicle is a genuine Bloodmobile—a far cry from the romantic outing she'd anticipated.
