"The Bride Wore Khaki" tells the true story of Lieutenant Dorothea Daley, one of the U.S. Army nurses who arrived in Manila in spring 1941. After passing inspection at port, Dorothea is invited to an Officers' Club reception where she meets a first lieutenant stationed at Clark Field who shares his vital statistics and romantic interest in an Army nurse. Dorothea later relocates to Alaska for her mining career, where she has secured funding to hire miners to fill her contract, and encounters the lieutenant again as her foreman arrives to help her start operations on her mining claim.
