The third chapter of Dark Horse's Calamity Kate arrives with a cover by Corin Howell that makes an immediate impression: a red-haired woman leaps through a crimson sky, sword raised overhead, bearing down on a massive shadowy creature all gnashing teeth, glowing eye, and writhing tentacles. Howell's linework sells the sheer scale of the confrontation beautifully, with Kate looking fearless rather than outmatched.
